Almost as much fun as gravel skiing!

Try saying “Speed sled base snow ball” three times fast!

Seems like a fun game! Apart from home runs being near impossible to hit

Who doesn’t love a good game of speed sled base snow ball? Or even a bad game of speed sled base snow ball. As long as you can keep saying speed sled base snow ball.

Looks like Calvinball to me.

I think that watching baseball is boring, but I’d watch that!

Nice one, but you should face Garfield next.

What a throw!! With that arm, Hobbes could be a world class baseball pitcher or cricket bowler. And, of course, Cal has a tremendous place to sled. Woulda enjoyed that when I was sledding.

Hobbes cheated in panel 5. That’s not the same snow from the first ball.

I guess in this game, LOB doesn’t mean “left on base”, but a simpler throwing term.

Calvin proves again that he is better at inventing games than at playing them. Calvin invents the games but Hobbes has the natural ability which helps him win them.

Hobbes has quite an arm.

Will Hobbes be a prospect for the Detroit Tigers next year or play quarterback for the Bengals (especially since they need one now…)?

We are to get snow in my area of the country by the end of Thanksgiving Week. Hopefully it will mean less harebrained activities than what they’re doing.

This is exactly the kind of game we would come up with when our parents demanded we play outside in the cold…

This is still a big favourite of mine. I remember wanting to try this out but never getting enough snow.

Bound to be an interesting rule book. Oh, wait Calvin has no rules.

[Forlorn baseball fan here] We NEED this game! (One hypothermia-check delay allowed per team, renewed if the player is curled up in a fetal position in the snow! Automatic snowman on second in extra innings!)

When we were children we were each given a hockey stick and a hockey puck for Christmas. Hockey season lasted until all the pucks were lost and the sticks broken. Usually ended before noon on the 26th.
