Hoogie was just adorable when she was a little girl. Her Dad was sort of a ne’er-do-well but not a really bad sort. I remember that one time he dumped Hoogie on Slim and Clovia. They were so taken with her that they were about to try to get custody. Then her daddy came back with a wife. She was a homely nurse but it turned out that she had an inheritance or something. She and Hoogie seemed to get along very well
