bribing kids to shut up is surely a charity I’m willing to give

Not a good tactic. It encourages behavior that will get a bribe to stop it.

As long as it works …… what does it matter …….. :)

Probably a Cape porcupine to play with till he finds the zipper.

Motivation for the good behavior….maybe a reason besides material?

Companies should try incentives. Some do, of course, but not all.
