A question once asked on the Newlywed Show was “In your neighborhood what direction does the sun rise?” I don’t remember if they asked the wives or husbands first but the answers were all wrong until the last husband who looked confused as he replied “In the East, just like it does all over the world”.
My last pup (a Golden Retriever) didn’t do compass points – but I walk with her at the end of the retractable leash and, as we approached an intersection, tell her “We’re turning right (or left)” and she’d turn that way.

Give him a name at least. Commenters love pets they can relate to.

Why when you can’t follow directions

Easy peasy now. My dog rides in the front seat and the navigation screen responds to her nose. Her nose picks the destination.

The dog might be more interested if the director said “Exit” or “Enter”.

The dog can take the directions. It just won’t follow them.

Every time you tell the dog to roll over he loses gets North and West confused.
