Republicans are observing this year’s Pride Month with complaints about the rainbow flag being flown on federal properties, including at the White House.

It’s another way the GOP is leaning into culture war issues that are animating its base amid broader efforts to restrict transgender rights nationwide.

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) took issue with the way a pair of U.S. flags hung next to a Pride flag on the balcony of the White House for a concert to commemorate Pride Month on Saturday, where President Joe Biden praised the “extraordinary” courage of LGBTQ Americans while acknowledging the discrimination and violence the community faces.

The GOP Throws A Fit Over The Pride Flag

This toon should just be named, “FALSE EQUIVALENCY.”

Looks like an old timey Andy Capp fight.

The Republican minority thinks it should always be on top.

The Base wants nothing more than to eliminate democracy in America in favor of rule by billionaire oligarchs.

They want that in return for not allowing Those People to have any power whatsoever. That is also exactly what most billionaires want.

The gun violence and death threats are all part of the bigger picture.

I’m thinking that they should combine her flag’s blue background with his flag’s yellow lettering, and then go off together to fight Putin’s Russians in Ukraine. But I’m sure there are at least some here who disagree.
