It’s the 15th of the month wouldn’t Latino Heritage Month start on the first? Despite my name my family is Portuguese from the Azores so some people do not consider me Latino because my family did not come from the Americas.
Latino Heritage Month runs – “Fri, Sep 15, 2023 – Sun, Oct 15, 2023.” Anything I could say about starting a month on the 15th would probably get me branded as culturally insensitive or worse. But I imagine there are plenty of Latinos who have thoughts like that… Lalo Alcaraz perhaps being one of them.
“The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September18, respectively.— National Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept. 15-Oct. 15, 2023, Census.gov
Mexico was first the rest of latin America followed soon after for some others almost 10 years later.. 2 mayor factors, the USA independence and napoleon

Starting Latino Heritage month on the 15th is no stranger than New Delhi India’s time zone.

I suppose this is an older comic but it gives the unfortunate impression that Latinos only get half a month. :)
