I had one pair of male cat that bonded tightly. They hunted together, slept together and groomed each other. They would go on walks with me. It was easier because one preferred to stay near me and the other would not stray far from him.
They did have their disagreements. The younger like to play the “I’m not biting you” game until the older was driven to distraction. One day the older guy threw the annoying one down a stairwell. Nobody was hurt and they were grooming each other again in half an hour.
