20 years ago I had neighbors with a dog that barked whenever it was outside, barked so loud my windows vibrated. After 15 or 20 minutes of barking I’d hear him sounding like he was choking. He’d sound all raspy, gasped for breath for 30 seconds or so, and then start barking all over again. Too stupid to know the barking was hurting his throat.
