This has been one lame arc.

I love some of those old noir novels, like those of Ross Macdonald, James Cain, and David markson. Not all of the gritty tough guys were heavy drinkers, though.

This kind of encounter often continues like [bartender gives him dirty look] – Monty growls “…in a dirty glass!”

Let me add a little lemon and sugar to your tea with a shot of limoncello.

I’d prefer a glass of warm Gin with a human hair in it.

I just watched L.A. Confidential. A place called “The Nite Owl” is not a good place to be at night.

Maybe Monty will find better prices there than I did yesterday. I was at Grand Central Terminal in NYC with an hour to kill before my 11:30 pm train time. I walked down the street to a fairly upscale hotel and went to the bar. One glass of IPA cost me $18 including tax and tip. But at that time of night I wasn’t going to shop around.

Man, here in Wisconsin (a state not particularly well known for rampant sobriety), all the bars are required to close by 2 AM, and liquor stores can’t sell booze after 9 PM. Where’s this “late nite” place Monty turned up?

“Put it in a dirty glass.”

I sincerely hope he’s not wearing those awful shorts with that outfit. :)

It appears that Monty is not cut out for checking out the after-hours places.
