It has been so long since I have been anywhere that still allows smoking. I had forgotten how bad stale cigarette odor is until having to sit next to a cigarette smoker whose jacket reeked of stale smoke and burned my eyes, throat and sinus for a long time after moving away from him.
I worked in a restaurant back when smoking was allowed…and the smoking section was in the front of the restaurant…you had to walk thru it to get to the non smoking section. Terrible! I was so glad when they banned smoking!
Tromboners need to have clean lungs and bronchi and other breathing stuff to get out their great sounds. Every instrumentalist who plays a horn needs to have that to make good music. It’s hard to play well when you can’t breathe.
