In some states they push electric vehicles to claim they are becoming a “green” state; then use fossil fuel and/or coal to create electricity to charge the vehicles.

Right now, a 100w solar panel runs about $70-75, a minimum of 5 can be used for charging 10 is better, plus an inverter to run the charger or an extension cord as many new models also accommodate a regular house plug for slow charging. The cost that you are hearing about is from using public chargers. If range is an issue, a hybrid would be your best bet. The new Electric Chevy Equinox, can plug into your house and gain ten miles of driving for every hour it is plugged into a regular 120v outlet. If you are home from work an average of 12 hours’ what’s the problem? And while you are at work, those idle panels could be knocking 25% of your household electric bill by providing most of the power to run things that always need power, like your fridge or furnace, or security system.Wouldn’t it be nice to run those things for FREE, or as close to free as you can get?
