Played golf ‘tuther day and one of the guys who is considerably younger, ripped a long high drive right down the middle of the fairway. To no one in particular I just said, "Wow! That’s how I wanna hit the ball when I grow up!" His wife heard me and just about blew a snot bubble from laughing so hard. Tru story!

For me, not much time left. I’ve grown up … and out. Soon enough I’ll grow daisies.

    That’s not a plugger thing, that’s a human thing.

Take heart anyway dog dude, Raymond Chandler didn’t get published until he was 50.

When I was younger, I was told I was born 35 yo. So, I was a grownup from the git-go.

I’m over 60 and I’ve had a book idea in my head for over 4 decades

Nothing has ever been written down, but I’ve told so many people so many stories about my non book that it seems like I’ve written it

As Paula Poundstone observed," Adults ask children what they want to be when they grow up because they’re looking for ideas for themselves."

I was going to write a novel, but the greatest opening lines such as, “It was a dark and stormy night” and the “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,” or “It was a hobbit hole” were already taken so I gave up.

I was just at the doctor and learned I don’t have much time left. 30, 35 years tops. I am devastated, I just turned 696 months old and thought I had plenty of time.

Growing older is inevitable; growing up is optional…

Since retiring, I’ve thought about starting a second career. The closest to doing both would be to get my CDL and do cross-country. But I realize I am enjoying retirement very much and love my camping, 4-wheeling with our SxS, and motorcycling.

I’ve done everything from pick tobacco in North Carolina to working on a free-electron laser in California – danced the belly dance and wrote political speeches. I still haven’t found the thing I’m really good at but I keep trying. :)

When I was growing up I wanted to be Santa, an honest politician or an honest lawyer but since none of them exist I gave up

I should be good… I might have to grow older, but, I steadfastly refuse to grow up.
