Why do they always choose the hard way – other than to flesh out the story?

Billy is definitely a 2nd Amendment advocate/wacko. But if necessary he also has the torture merit badge.

He’d make a good cop, or soldier, or patriot, or boot-licking fascist, or nazi, or neo-nazi, or mass shooter, or domestic terrorist, or “enlightened” centrist, or far-right conservative, or…

I guess that’s it.
