I notice that this “early” Jock has a much smoother coat than he is portrayed with in the later comics. We like the scruffy look on Scotties much better, so we rarely had our Scottie done up in a classic “Scottie cut”. With the scruffy look, he looked like a (very) miniature Scottish Deerhound.

I thought for a minute that the story arc with Jock had finished. The sudden appearance by Jock explains today’s strip and it’s role in the story arc.
