Another in a series of naked April comic strips. There was a stretch there when April took off her clothes on a pretty regular basis and I think we are still in that stretch.
But, April, cowboys are not naked. They wear western or flannel shirts with Wrangler jeans that are held up with a trophy buckled belt, occasionally accompanied with jean coverlet like Toy Story’s Woody does, and a pair of cowboy boots completes the outfit. You were almost there with the coveralls – just add a flannel shirt and a pair of high ankle boots. You’d look cowboy enough.
My Halloween outfit was a Lone Ranger mask, hat, and cap pistols. That was back in the fifties. Candy back then was lousy compared to today. Taffy and those peanut things.
A fiery broom stick horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust and a hearty, ‘Hi Yo Silver!’ The Naked Ranger!"
“Hi Yo Silver, away!”
“With her faithful canine companion Farley, the daring and naked rider of the plains led the fight for law, order, and underpants in the early west. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear. The Naked Ranger rides again!”
A plaid shirt and overalls would fill the bill, Elly, and doesn’t Mike have a capgun and holster laying around somewhere? You’re just trying to push your dumb ladybug idea on April, so you made this happen!
My family lived in an isolated house in the country. No air conditioning. On hot days in the summer, our mother would let us run naked through the water sprinkler to cool off. This was when I was four, my sister was three and the twin brothers were two.
My younger sister constantly took her clothes off around that age, especially if she were going outside. She didn’t want them to get dirty. If it started to rain, she would put a scarf on her head and a pair of rainboots on her feet to keep them dry.

That would be pretty cold for trick-or-treating.

Knowing April’s penchant for nudity, Elly should’ve seen this coming.

Well, I suppose that sort of makes sense. Personally, I would want some boots too. You know. Cactus and all that.

For some reason, they are called “ladybirds” in the UK. Maybe go as a “ladybird”, then.

The thing with kids like Apo is to convince them that dressing in a nice costume like that is their idea. Usually using a Tom Sawyer white wash method
