I’ve built Ivy a new cat bed. It’s to replace the upturned cardboard box in front of the storage heater in the hallway. I’m going to line the bottom with cardboard and put one of her blankets on top. The interior size is 2′ × 15″.

There was a major breakthrough with the kittens yesterday. They were all on the tree and I was just sitting there, reading my Kindle and petting them. The non-furry orange one kept inching closer to jumping over the edge. I just let him think about it and then wham! He was on my lap. I held him, stroked him and just let him be. I really thought the black one would be next, but later in the day, it was the fluffy orange one that made the leap. The black one just isn’t there yet. I can tell he’s thinking about it, though. He leans over the side, watches the others and then looks at me. I’ve pulled the tree close to me so the leap will be a short one.
I had to go back to my first client today and i got to see a pair of deer behind his apartments eating windfall apples. Then, on the way home, i got to see a hawk of some kind taking off out of the estuary with something dangling from its beak.
Never let realism get in the way of a good story. Dr. Seuss certainly didn’t. On another note, saw four chickadees, two juncos, and two robins while out walking today.
Yesterday I got identification from Tennessee Bird Watchers of pictures I finally got of an unfamiliar bird that had been showing up for water from my birdbath, not seeds. It was an American Redstart. Quite beautiful. Today I saw an infrequent visitor on the feeders, a Gray Catbird. Just 1 not 10!…giggle.

Ches is unclear on the concept. That’s a cat for tou. They live in a " now" and “me” world.

Is this a real children’s book? If it isn’t, it ought to be!

Don’t you see, Chesney? It’s a bus to anywhere! You name the place and that’s where he’ll race.

I love this arc. The bus driver sounds like our bus drivers.
