She hasn’t stopped him yet! Not even slowed him down!

I feel the same way. The stinkier it is the more they like it. If someone made a “rotting fish carcass” flavor mine would love it.

I agree with Janis, especially the cat food called “Ocean Whitefish and Tuna”. P-U.

That’s not the only way to make the cat finicky, Arlo. My mom got a dog sometime after I moved out. First time I pet sat for her, she gave me the instructions on how to prepare the dog’s food. It was a cup of dry food, a couple of tablespoons of canned food, and a couple of crumpled up strips of jerky snacks. It all had to be mixed together, or the dog would just nibble off the top. When it came to us kids, picking up the same fast food every single night was good enough, but that dog had a recipe that had to be followed.

Another good reason not to have a cat

It really does seem that the more a cat food reeks, the more the cat enjoys it.

Friend of mine gave her Siamese some canned clams and shrimp. The cat never wanted cat food after that…

This brings back childhood memories of serving the cat a can of tuna and egg each day. Nasty stuff although the cat loved it.

One of my 2 cats prefers dry food.

And dog food smells even worse.

A friend of mine gave ne a can of sardines for my cat. Cat took one sniff, looked at me like I had two heads, and walked away. Sardines went in the trash.

My cat likes the Chicken and Turkey and ignores the Salmon and other fish based ones

Cat food may well be the only thing in the world more disgusting than cats (except that they eat it, thus lifting their nasty factor to unscaleable levels…….)

Luddy only likes stuff that gets a performance from Janis ;-)

I’m with Arlo here. Our Louie can read my disgusted wifes expression and eats after a little while until he’s forgotten about it but the smell still lingers. I’m happy to give him what he likes and he happily starts scarfing it up the moment I present it to him

Haven’t you noticed that, until now, it was always Arlo who fed Ludwig? (Especially after Arlo lost a sports bet with Luddie.)

We feed our cats a wide variety and this has basically eliminated finicky eaters. Variety is the way to do it. And fresh shrimp and salmon and other stuff like cold cooked poultry with chopped up cold duck or chicken or rabbit hearts as toppers. The same can of Fancy Feast for every meal and a bowl of dried crap is not the most appetizing thing.

I make my cats’ food. It doesn’t stink at all, and neither does their breath, or their poop. S’easy
