I suspected the cleaning lady and, lo and behold, it was “the cleaning lady”. The reason you leave the lid up is to allow the fumes to disperse.

My grandma had an outhouse when I was very young. I don’t remember there ever being an issue about leaving the seat up or down.

In all fairness, if I as a man can remember to check and lift the seat when I go, women can remember to check and lower the seat when they go. This “men must learn to put the seat down” is absolutely inequitable B.$.

“Dun – Dun – Dun”!

Not an issue in our house. She has her bathroom and I have mine…but I have to clean both.

For about a year now I have been putting the seat and cover down, since reading about rats and snakes entering properties through the toilet. I sleep better these evenings.

Speaking of the PLO, who remembers the black & white Martin and Lewis film wherein Jerry was the PLO, and arranged for all the military toilet seats (maybe a dozen or so) to flip up all together to salute the inspecting officer?
