I haven’t seen the old TV sign off symbol in years. I recall the station would go off the air at 10:00 or 11:00 pm, show the American Flag while a narrator recited “High Flight” then the standby symbol would come up and that was it for the day.
I appreciate the restraint. We don’t really need to lower our standards to the lowest level available. Besides, using cuss words shows a lack of creativity, and cartoonists don’t have that problem.
And the censor bots for this site are ridiculously over the top. Everyday, innocuous, completely logical words in no way vulgar and found in any dictionary are banned and the “customer no help desk” couldn’t care less
