A barber was a doctor of all sorts. This is why a barber pole is striped red, blue, and white. The white was to represent the bandages… while the rest was the blood. So… if you had a toothache… you went to the barber.
Go to a professional and get decent care. Or go to someone who is only going to yank out your teeth. Which would you do?

Unfortunately the current artist for this once great strip is probably the worst ever. Very limited in his range
