He weighted just hoping someone would say something to lift the mood.

Missing a “we” near the beginning.

If they go blind, they will just have to feel their way around each other.

Isn’t that a myth? “Touching oneself” has long been well-nigh universal among young men, but there seems to be no outbreak of blindness.

Those things were a terrible joke from Day One. But Dan managed to milk them for one more gag.
