I almost can’t walk past one without at least looking. Could be a Christmas present in one.

Read & return. Or read & replace with a book you’re done with.

I put up one of those on the corner of our lot by the street and started it out with a bunch of paperbacks I had. That was some years ago. I look in there from time to time and all my books have been gone for quite a while and there’s always turnover. While I never see much action, it’s apparently being used.

I have 2 of these on my front lawn. I had to expand from the first one to add a much bigger, newspaper dispenser type, of lending library so I could put out the much taller/bigger kids books as I live only 4 houses away from an elementary school. I scavenge garage sales in the summer to gather books, but I also get plenty of folks dropping books off at my place too, in addition to inspiring some folks on a few nearby streets to add lending libraries to their yards.

I like the idea I saw in a meme, at the base of the little library there was a box of sticks with a sign saying “Take a stick-leave a stick”

That’s where they put the books that are banned in the big library. I was gonna say ‘all the books’ but they’d need a big library for that.

Anyone remember the “Little Books”? I seem to remember there were about 5 books in a little bookcase-shaped box. The box was about 3″×3″×1″. I loved those little things.

We had one next to the school for a very long time. There were two. One for the books and one for food for anyone that needed to take it. And now they are gone.
