The ever present, well worn, always comfortable red plaid flannel shirt. I have one in my closet.
Must be an old time lumber jacket because the new ones sport a hardhat w/ hearing and face protection and cut resistant chaps in addition to safety toed boots.
We lived in our apartment for 10 years. In all that time we had 2 girls (early teens) come trick or treating together once. Okay, no children lived in the apartment building (our door directly to street) and children not living in same would probably be told not to come to us.
Moved about 6 blocks away to our house. Have lived here over 30 years. Have never had a trick or treater come. Thought we would when a family moved in each side of us with children of correct age – but none in the years they have been here. Don’t even see children walking around to do so.
(Husband grew up in the adjacent community which is combined with ours for school, etc and he did go trick or treating when he was young.)

… and the costumes in our pre-plugger days weren’t near so Satanic as they are today. Not the kid’s fault – that’s on the parents.
