Dr. Kellogg believed food should be as bland as possible, food that had strong taste stimulated sexual desire and sexual desire was a bad thing in his beliefs.
I would agree with the showers. I suspect that it is because while showering you just let you mind wonder which lets you see the answers that your rational mind was blocking.
The only real problem with this, which I frequently have, is letting the mind wonder so far that you end up running late.
John Kellog was a religious nutbar. He believed that things that make you feel good or happy must be inherently bad for you, so he developed a series of nutritious, but BLAND foods like Corn Flakes, Graham Crackers, and he probably did the steamed rather than roasted peanut thing because steaming food makes it have a weaker flavor. He also popularized doing very unpleasant things to babies that I can’t get into detail here because of the rules of this forum.

The shower inspiration is true. I often wondered why the R and D department didn’t require showers at work….

What do mountain climbers do “when nature calls” while climbing? And when other climbers are right below them?

What do they sell the climbers? Pitons? Safety lines? Insurance?

When people have time to actually think instead of looking at a screen they often come up with good ideas.

I get some good ideas in the shower. But I’ll forget them by the time I’ve dried off.

This strip should move to Sundays only. I’ve heard more interesting facts from my local high school cafeteria.
