Yes, it is always good to double check and make sure a friend or neighbor knows your phone number, has a key to the house, and trip schedule.

This sounds like my grandma who’d delay every summer road trip by constantly announcing that she forgot to turn something off or whatever until the day grandpa had taken all the faucet and stove knobs, the iron and everything, put them in a box in the trunk and pulled over to show it to grandma at the first mention of it.
