Oh, great :-D Reminds me of a lovely conversation I had yesterday :-D I can so very much relate to the little boy! Have the same problems ever since we got to deal with this crap in the 1980s.
We don’t lose an hour in the spring. How could gaining an hour of outdoor time after work be considered ‘losing’? In the PNW we are officially at pre-5pm sunsets now which is just the absolute worst.
Semi-retired so I have no “set” schedule, but boy do I wish that we could all, ALL, go back to either Standard (real) time or daylight-time—and I no longer care which one! Pick One and stay there. Love Arizona, they stay on Standard time year round.
The missed hour of sleep leads to an increase in heart attacks and car accidents and yet politicians only talk about getting rid of it. Clear evidence that they do not care about their constituents.
I’m in favor of Greenwich Mean Time all over. In half the world, it would be just fine: On one edge, the day would start in the general neighborhood of dawn, on the other edge the day would end in the general neighborhood of sunset. In the other half, midnight would come at inconvenient times, but they already have the Date Line to deal with.
And one could do as astronomers do: call 3:00 Wednesday 27:00 Tuesday.

Like many of us, at the first mention of Circadian Rhythm, his mind drifted away.

Are you kidding? What kind of nutty kid would prefer wasting an hour sleeping in the fall to getting that extra hour to play in the spring?
Lambutts about 1 year ago
Because we usually waste that hour by staying up an extra hour to watch TV

Good thing you are given an extra hour. That is about how long it takes me to set all the clocks back.

My disgust at both goes on for at least a week, sometimes longer.

Same reason that jet lag is worse one way than the other.

Another argument for ending Daylight Saving Time.

Because changing the clocks is all smurfed up.

Does it take so long? I’d say it’s another of his bad assumptions.
