Most of us fall asleep while watching TV and we are mistaken in the fact that TV helps to put us to sleep. It is Fatigue of body and mind that causes the sleep.
My grandmother would fall asleep during the program she watched, the louder commercials would wake her up. She complained that the show she watches is all commercials, no show.
I asked my eye doctor about the scourge of Blue Light. He said the only thing is that it will fool your brain into thinking it is day and makes it hard to get to sleep. Reading the ads about it would lead you believe it is deadly.
At our house, the roles would be reversed. My wife is the one who crashes in front of the TV. Then when the reruns come out, she’ll complain that she’s never seen those episodes before.
Falling asleep in front of the TV is as ubiquitous as waking up 15 minutes before the alarm goes off.
My TV has a timer function that I never remember to use. I will often start streaming an episode of something only to wake up three episodes later to lights flickering in a darkened room.
It always cracks me up that Ralph’s snoring is ZZYZX. Zzyzx is an actual place, a few miles SW of Baker California and the location of a resort in Mojave National Preserve owned by the University of California Desert Studies Center. It’s a good place to see desert birds and occasionally Desert Bighorn Sheep. I can’t post a photo here, so if you’re interested, just Google it.

That reminds me of my late father…he would start to watch a movie, then drift off…by the time he woke back up, the movie had already ended!

Sometimes that TV noise just helps because it means you aren’t thinking before you go to sleep which is what will keep you up !

Good to see house flags are back. They never really left, of course. But haven’t been shown in several days.
