Where’s this coming from that out of the blue Kat has a step-dad?

I’d like to have some kind of back story to this arc… Step-dad would indicate some kind of divorce or death earlier in her life…

Wished my stepdaughter would have gone with me on more than 2 jobs. Would had been nice if she had been with me with other things, too. Now she’s 28 and has a life of her own. :(
