Yes, I remember when time was five times slower. I was in third grade, in June, and it was so nice outside.

Time moves at different rates in different parts of the universe now. For example, time moves slower as you approach a black hole.

Time on the surface of the Earth moves slower than time on the top of a tall building. However, the difference is not enough to be noticeable without extremely accurate clocks.

The older you get, the faster time moves.

Time is more or less a function of the gravitational field. I ask an astrophysicist and that was the answer given. Although I think at a doctor’s waiting room time nearly stands still.

Does someone know when this happened with the asteroid squeaking by?

Bad drawing. Rings can only form at the equator of an oblate spheroid.

A lot needed to get done at “The Beginning” so yes, slow down the clock so as to get all that stuff needed in the universe filled, because remember matter and energy can only travel so fast. Plus all the basic forces [gravity, electromagnetic, strong, weak, etc.] were still evolving also then.

An asteroid passed 75% closer than the moon??? It seems like it would have been sucked in by Earths gravity…

No mention of WHEN that skyscraper-sized meteor flew by. I mean, I’d EXPECT it to take scientists two days to realize the event had happened, if we’re talking about 1920. If we’re talking 2010, however it would come as far more of a surprise that the scientists were clueless for 48 hours.

I guess in the early days of the universe, it spent a lot of time at the DMV.

I have a way to make time go 25 times slower.

Just tell my fiance “Hey, let’s go out to dinner.”

Her reply is always, “Just give me about 10 minutes to do my make-up.”

It usually means I have at least two hours to nap before we leave the house.

I had to look up the story about the asteroid and it seems they knew about it way back in February of 2023 and it passed by in October of 2023.
