A bit of water and minerals every so often doesn’t hurt, either. Just sayin’…

If you’re talking to them, you’re paying attention to them.

And the best fertilizer is a Gardener’s Shadow.

If you want to learn something, try teaching someone else.

Don’t talk to your plants if you value privacy. They’re huge gossips, and they communicate on ultrasonic frequencies which travel a long way. Every plant in the neighborhood knows what you’ve said by the time you finish a sentence.

This plant advise can be applied to children, too.

She talks constantly. How does the plant know if she’s talking to it or someone else?

It is the carbon dioxide from your breath that helps the plant. They breath in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen.

Just watched a video on You Tube where a Japanese researcher did a study on this. One jar of rice he spoke to lovingly, one jar he spoke to hatefully, and one he ignored. The results were in line with Rose’s assumption.

Partially the CO2, the vibrations might affect it too, as birdsong is supposed to stimulate the little breathing holes in leaves to open.

Talking to your plant is a good form of relaxation. They may not sit in your lap and purr, but they are good listeners,

On the other hand – we talk to my teddy bears (hundreds of them) and some dolls and they always answer back (even if they sound like us).
