Honesty was a bad economic policy for Andy. It was also an unusual policy for him to try.
Talking of policies, it is the King’s Speech today here in the UK. It is the first time since 1951 that we have had a King’s Speech rather than a Queen’s Speech although there was a very popular movie called The King’s Speech a few years ago. It was set in the 1930s and concerned the late Queen’s father George VI.
we had a guy at the RR that got into a little trouble and was told he had to take a drug test, he told them he didn’t think he could pass it , but he did pass it and they pulled him out of service anyway.
I don’t believe He used those exact words, but God laid down that honesty principle throughout the Bible. For example: “Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech.” Psalm 34:13
Some people might chalk up Andy’s stupid admission to a case of a guilty conscience, but since Andy doesn’t have a conscience, I guess you can just blame it on stupidity.
While being interviewed by the police; an auditor; or an angry wife ~ never mention something until the other party does so first. Just keep a neutral face, look at the other party, and keep your darn-fool mouth shut!
Might be difficult to speak to that “lad,” Andy; a little googling reveals that the expression is often attributed to Benjamin Franklin.
I adhere to such policies as, “Keep your mouth shut until absolutely necessary” and “Always let the other person speak first” (as in this case, where Andy should have waited to find out what Flo was so mad about). I learned both of those from classic TV sitcoms.

And with Andy’s credit history, I seriously doubt he has EVER repaid a single red cent to ANYONE, so it would NEVER qualify as “borrowing”.

I agree with Andy in the last panel.
Also, I am still amused at the knot of that bandage. Hehe.
