I kind of do this every Dec. 10 as it is my birthday and I want snow!! However, in 67 years (as of today) it has only snowed a single handful of times ON my birthday. Maybe next year. Of course, moving further north would help…… but I am not THAT desperate. LOL
Speaking of bare minimum, when someone in our family thanks me for doing something, I often respond, “It’s the least I could do, and never let it be said that [my name here] wouldn’t do the least he could do.”It’s my original quote I coined about 20 years ago, and I still have fun with it when the moment (and the other person) are a fit for the joke.
Wait…Paige takes biology AND chemistry? And she’s just a freshman? “In my day,” the usual way was, sophomores took biology, juniors took chemistry, and seniors took physics.
What does Peter have for first period that he doesn’t want to miss, or is there a girl in there he likes? Which reminds me, whatever happened to Denise?
I frequently had to go back to school in early February after our summer holidays. and sometimes even ON MY BIRTHDAY!! Feb. is our hottest month in southern Oz,, and air conditioning wasn’t heard about in those days here. AND we had to wear school uniforms AND STARCHED COLLARS, AND TIES!! That was followed a few years later by Vietnam and conscription. Tell me about how well Baby Boomers had it…few cars, little spare cash, none of modern services of these days.
Anyway, I went back to school as a teenager, and (humbly) was awarded high honours in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, and a pass in Pure Maths. These results got me into Melbourne University, our best university in Oz, and completely opened my life, Thanks to God, Mum and Dad, and all my teachers, for I had only gone to a new, peripheral, unheard of school in the 1950s.
Covid has ruined snow days for my kids. They’ll cancel IN PERSON learning, but they’re still expected to sign in, check their online assignments, and keep up.

There’s so many people hoping for a white Christmas, that the other hopes get blocked out.

That’s enough to get it cancelled here

Ah, the fitting irony!

It’ll snow eventually, Paige, and then you will complain that you have to shovel!

She should consult Calvin on how to conjure up snow.

I think I’m pretty chill with the weather, warm winters have never bothered me.

The “weather gods” know you have no intention of keeping your promise, Paige.

If she’s willing to study and study and study now, then why didn’t she do that before???

A pretty flaky request.

Did Paige see the time Bart Simpson prayed for a snow day to study for a test, then Lisa reminded him of it?

I wouldn’t be caught dead in my bare minimum outside this time of year.

The weather gods are arguing over whether Paige’s promise is contingent on making it snow or on getting school canceled.

That would be all the snow necessary to halt schools in the Carolinas.

Youngsters. Young whippersnappers. In my case an OLD whippersnapper… Err, Whimpersnapper.
