I really hate it when affection is portrayed in such a negative light. Dog kisses (and I dare say kisses from a loving grown-up or sibling) are a good thing. Let’s not teach people otherwise.
I recall a line from Oliver and Company, Tito the Chihuahua said when he and his buddies broke into a mansion to rescue the kidnapped kitten; “Eef thees ees torture chain me to the wall!” Did you work on that one Nancy?
Of all the things that my family did to hurt me I longed more affection like this.. That said, kiss #2, Floof off the floor, priceless!!
When we were kids we normally did not like shows of affections from our siblings at times and even less getting our picture taken in such a moment. However, when we grow up and go through life, we cherish those pictures and the memories of getting a hug from a big or little brother or sister.
Hubby would tell his Lab to “Kiss the kitty.” Both the cat and the dog looked at him like he was crazy, the dog “kissed” the kitty and the dog and the cat both looked at him like they hated him for making them do that bad idea.
My two cats say ‘good morning’ by licking one another’s faces. This rapidly devolves into a game of Bitey Face, called that because one tries to bite the other cat’s face, and the second cat goes for the feet. Bitey Face ends when one cat runs away. No one gets hurt and the boys love each other very much.
