As a kid who grew up with plenty of food but no frills, I loved visiting my over-indulging aunt who always had raisin bread with frosting. I thought that was the best bread/toast in the world! Rats – now I need to go and buy some…
Raisins are Nature’s Candy, but some do hate them: Jim Davis’s Garfield, Bill Watterson’s Calvin, Sam and Joon from “Benny and Joon”, who called them “Humiliated grapes”.

That’s a mistake I would never make, Petey.

I like raisins, I like bread, so why is raisin bread so gross?

I’m sorry for the raisin lovers out there, but I also don’t like raisins, even though I’m not a picky eater.

What would Petey think of my breakfast, which includes oatmeal with raisins, maple syrup, and a sprinkle of cinnamon? I also put raisins on salads.
Neutral on raisin bread. Don’t dislike it, but don’t like it enough to buy it.

And you reported that to the Picky Eaters website? I admire your forthrightness and honesty, Petey. But, yeah, you’re your own worst enemy.

Raisins are good! Love ’em. Of course I have a certain reason for favoring raisins.
This may be one of the few issues on which Petey and I disagree….

A beautiful, classic characterization of these two loveable Cul de Sac-ians. Only Zombies dead grapes! Uh-Oh, Petey!
