At the park next to my mother’s house we really did have a sign that said “Slow Children”.

I thought it meant that the children aren’t here because they went to the Shakespeare festival.

I was about to say that they’re about as famous as “Men at Work”, but remembered that there used to be an Australian rock group by that name.

Here the signs say “Watch Children”, but do not stop and watch them or you will get in trouble!

I remember seeing a sign on a highway in Michigan that read “Slow Children Ahead”, which sounds like it means there are dimwitted children ahead.

With no Sunday strips, we are slowly catching up to the current month/day. Today’s strip is dated 3/1, only 14 days behind today’s month/day. But with 10 months to go before the Sunday strips start (January of 1952), we will overshoot and be ahead of the calendar by about a month if GC does nothing to correct for it.

That’s a better sign than “Slow Children at Play”

I really thought in the last panel they would be playing in the street because the law said they had to.

More truth in that sign than the “men working” ones.
