Over the years I worked with many good ol’ boys in factories. They were a long way from home, having grown up in Southern states like Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia. But they retained colorful sayings concerning women and “romance” that would turn the faces of current young women red in indignation.
I remember many of those sayings, and as a young man thought them very funny in their shockingly nonchalant crudeness. Times have changed, and darn it — I don’t dare repeat them here, even with substituting euphemisms.

In real life the roosters end up on the dinner table first, as one rooster is enough in the henhouse, hens do not crow, nor fight, and they lay eggs!

As opposed to a Kentucky fried chicken that just sits around all day enjoying those secret herbs?
