How pertinent that this strip is on Feb 1, when many New Years resolutioners have given up on going to the gym. Good for me because it’s not so crowded anymore, but discouraging for them.
As for me, I do best by figuring out the best time of day for me (mid-afternoon), and I go at that time regularly, no excuses. I schedule appointments around it and make those days a priority.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Thursday and happy February! Have a great day, all!
Procrastination, the great American pastime. I belong to a gym, but I don’t go every day. My aim for February is to go 3-4 days a week (during Dec. and Jan., I average twice a week or so). On other days, I go walk to a nearby park (Lincoln Park) if the weather’s nice. Once Winter gives way to spring, I’d like to go to my gym in the mornings and perhaps take a jaunt to the park in the afternoon after lunch. Happy leap year!
Wow. Cathy actually sounds quite normal today. Oops, I am having my mid-afternoon snack but forgot to get on the glider first. Better do that now or maybe I will do it after my snack, or after I finish reading the comics, or maybe after supper. Nope. NOW!
I enjoy my daily walks at the Metro Park…the track is kept clear and some of the paths through the woods have been walkable most of the winter. We have to drive 25 miles to get there and people ask us why we bother…and we laugh, look around, and say “yeah, gee why do we bother?” Today we fed cranes, and watched a muskrat scrounge for matter to build up his “hut” a little more.

Did Cathy Guisewite base this strip on my life?

If you have to go somewhere to “work out” that is farther away than a bakery, it’s not going to work out. :(

A vicious cycle, isn’t it? At least the motivation to work out was there. (Maybe … sorta … kinda … )
