At the kid’s party, I ate a hot dog, a cheeseburger, two servings of potato salad, soda and a piece of birthday cake (end piece). Am I depressed? No – I’ll walk it off over the next three afternoons.
Cathy, you could have combined the “chips, cookies and chocolate” into one chocolate chip cookie and saved a lot of calories. Everyone should reward themself with a chocolate chip cookie every evening. At least that’s my motto.
Appropriate strip for me today. Just got back from 12 days of eating in restaurants. Even when my wife and I split a single order there was too much food on the plate for me. Why do restaurants serve such big portions???
I had a fun conference in Scottsdale AZ the first week. Fortunately the only time we had to go outside is to walk to and from a restaurant for dinner. By that time the temperature cooled from anywhere from 105F to 117F to somewhere in the mid 90’s. Still too hot for me. I had hoped to hike off all those large meals in the 4 days we spent in Sedona with two other couples but daily temperatures in the high 80’s to mid 90’s was too hot for walking the trails. We did get one hike in at Bell Rock early Thursday morning when it was in the high 60’s. An hour later it was back up the the high 80’s so it was a short walk. Since we could not do much hiking we spent one afternoon in Flagstaff at the Lowell Observatory. That was a fantastic afternoon. I am glad they are preserving the original telescopes and allowing the public to use them. Back home now – with a high today of 58F – feels good as I think my body has stored some of that heat from the last few days.
Happy to hear rgcviper is ok after Helene. I hope everyone else in and near the storm path is ok as well.Have a happy Sunday today.
