    Dark matter is just the name for the gravitational anomalies we see. There are alternative explanations, but we don’t have anything that works in all cases. It will take someone smarter than Einstein to resolve it.

    Personally, I think they came up with something to try and explain things they can’t. Oh, must be dark matter that we have no way of examining. Or someone made a small mistake in some equation, moved a decimal point or reversed a value so the math is off. Since no one knows how big the universe is, what may be in it or what “laws” apply everywhere, blame it on dark matter. Saying someone is too ignorant to understand is just a cop out.
