I have the same question now that I had 60 years ago when we had to do this: what, EXACTLY, is the point of climbing the rope? I have NEVER been asked whether I could climb a rope or not. . .
What was worse in my jr high (1964) we had a 4.5 week gymnastic unit-parallel bars, horse, balance beam, trampoline, horizontal bar and we would be tested on each while the rest of the class watched, I had a hard time doing even the most basic routine. Only passed gym because I dressed out and showered every class. Never knew when the coach would be standing by the hamper with his paddle to be sure you had a wet towel when you left.
