And, of course, the miracle of how they do it without leaving their own tracks. Not the first comic strip with the miracle of the missing tracks. But the first where an ‘R’ has disappeared as well.
But Kevin is right… Which may be the greatest miracle of all.
But considering the way many young men like to write in the snow, perhaps these two should be commended for their restraint rather than condemned for their misspelling.
A merry winter observance of your choice, and a happy new (solar) year to all.
Ha! Brings back a memory. When I worked as an editorial artist at large Daily newspaper in the 90s, I was asked to create a fanciful Merry Christmas Banner for the front page on Christmas Eve. The type was colorful and festive, but I spelt Merry Christmas, Merry Chistmas. Perhaps because of the festive colorful typography, no one caught it and it ran the first edition before somebody in pagination spotted the mistake. I was called in to the managing editor’s office expecting a reprimand, but instead, he said that was the editors job to catch stuff like that, and there were 15 of them and one of me in the art Department so I was off the canycane hook. Still felt like an idiot, but it was a Christmas miracle to know that John had my back and I still had a job! Something I’ll never forget. Foot Note: With about 50,000 copies of the first edition ending up on the street, we only received about three calls from readers who actually noticed the mistake, either that or in the spirit of the season most readers let it slide.

I can see one of them growing up to be the guy who paints the stadium grass for the Kansas City “Chefs.”
