I’m going to be edgy and say that the second-to-last panel has the best expression. Plot Twist: It’s not Buckles’, it’s Paul’s. After all the suffering, Paul deserves to yoink the “expression of the day” crown! That being said, I’d like to see this strip animated. Who’s with me?
At first I thought that Buckles hit Paul with a right hook in the top third panel until the pillow came into focus : ) Buckles expressions in the panels where he has his arms stretched out are so cool , but the way that he is expressing himself in the last panel is the sweetest today for sure : )
Sometimes the Dogs that I watch are dropped off real early, before I’m up, they will come in and go to bed with me …. after awhile the older Lab will decide it’s time to get up and he act a little like Buckles …. but more with kisses ….. but when I finally say alright I’ll get up ….. he likes to lay on top of me, so I’m pinned down and can’t get up ……….. he is so funny …… :)
My dog is perfect. She stays sleeping on the bed until I wake her up. Then she patiently waits until I can get ready to get her outside for her first walk. I hurry, since she is so patient. I can’t recall her ever trying to wake me up. I have had some real enthusiastic pet wake ups in the past, though! Especially when I had two dogs and three cats, all who slept with me.

Wake up, not knock out, Buckles.

If Calvin tried to do something like that, he’d get sent to his room for his troubles.

Mine does the full bladder bounce upon me, knowing that paws on my lower tummy get faster reaction than face washes with a very efficient pink tongue.

I just want to know why he’d put Paul into a sleeper hold when he’s trying to wake up Paul.

I agree with you…and the second panel’s not bad either.

Buckles you’re adorable in the last panel. But you’re a terror in the beginning. Good thing Paul’s not going after you right now.

Sleeper hold? Sandman? Those are no moves to wake someone up.
