The Desert Hamsters were given 95% of their demands to form a 2 state solution back in 2000 and then WALKED AWAY frustrating the Clinton administration. Then after 9/11 these same people celebrated in the streets shooting guns in the air, etc. (since I live in an area that gets Washington DC’s stations) this was shown on the local DC news stations the night of 9/11 for anyone who believes I am making this up. At this point, they get what they have asked for, I have ZERO sympathy. Bulldoze the entire strip into the Mediterranean and start over.
I call BS here !!! Claiming Winslow, the liberal stand-in, is the one claiming to ignore it is just giving cover to Carmen, our stand-in conservative, to justify a violent non-proportional response. Cons have supported Netanyahu for all this time and his policies and lack of attention allowed this issue to boil over.
In the end, one war crime doesn’t justify a second.
If people missed the Never Again reference: look up the history of The Masada in Israel. It’s the site where the Jewish Zealots held out – for a while – against the Roman legions.
The Israeli military used to (maybe still do?) have inductees take their oath at The Masada, swearing “Never Again” to allow foreign forces to impose their will on Israel.
