A Vindictive child?

I LOVE living in a climate where 99% of the precipitation shovels itself… and when the other 1% hits, everything shuts down because the communities have no snow plows and the drivers have no “drive on snow” experiences. It’s laughable, in a way, but very calm unless you HAVE to get somewhere.

PS: I’ve not lived with snow much of my life, but I have driven on snow often and long enough to have decent reflexes and a clear understanding of how to keep your acceleration as low as reasonable (including lateral acceleration as you go around curves)… and how to drive neither too fast nor too slow for safety.

Hmm. I don’t think you’ll like what happens next.

As a kid I would loved to have my own shovel to help Dad. Now I have my own and am not so sure if I like what I have to do with it later!

She may get the privilege of shoveling the snow a second time to get it off the garage door, losing her old sled and/or sledding privilege for a day or two, and bonus time to spend by herself in her room.

Depending on what kind of snow shovel it is, it can be a pretty decent sled as well.

Never, ever try irony on a smart kid. It always backfires.

Like father, like daughter!

Reminds me when, as a toddler, I had a toy lawn mower and loved “helping” Dad. Didn’t realize I was actually in training.

Perhaps Dad will ‘allow’ her to remove the snow that she piled up against the garage door.

Why do we think it is snow she left? My mind when somewhere else.

I saw a meme the other day showing a huge pile of snow in front of a front porch with the tagline “IKEA delivered my snowman today”.

It was cruel for her dad to get her hopes up for a sled and instead get her a shovel. It looks to me that passive-aggression is a learned skill.

Great lesson, Dad.

She didn’t say she’d pile snow against the door. Maybe it’ll be dirt. Or worse.

Shoveling it twice then, to build character? Dad’s no dummy.

I stopped enjoying snow when, at age 13, family developments left me sole responsibility for shoveling a long driveway in the Black Hills.
