I’ve remodeled two kitchens, by myself. Our current kitchen is “outdated”. Beautiful blond oak cabinets, black stone counters, all the lower cabinets have roll-out shelves. Not making any changes, except replacing appliances if/when they fail.
my wife and I are in are seventies and my kitchen is over 30 years old and definitely needs a remodel, I can afford it but just don’t want the inconvenience of the mess so we have both decided to put it off till when ever.
Replacing all the hinges / knobs on the kitchen cabinets would not be trivial.
Finding new hardware where (1) the screw holes have exactly the same spacing as the old hardware (which would be the ideal), and (2) the spouse likes the new style.
Plus the new hardware would probably leave bits of unfinished wood visible (that was covered by the old hadware).
Plus being careful not to split the wood when removing old screws / installing new hardware / possibly having to drill new holes…

Remind her she’ll be cooking in a construction area for months. No way that’ll be finished before Xmas.

Last kitchen reno I did was about $10k and that was years ago. Can’t even imagine what it would cost now.

If that’s how Betty feels about Bub’s handyman skills, why did she bother buying him an impact driver……?

Just bury her in the backyard, Bub, and tell Jr that she’s doing some “gardening.” Now that’s a funny joke!
