When I was a kid, last century, the main street in town was all decorated with lights and banners. Most store parking lot light poles held lighted Christmas shapes. It was awesome. Then a recession hit and electricity prices went up and those streets and stores went dark. Even now, in side the grocery store, it seems the Christmas decorations are a 2nd thought. It was more festive for Halloween or for a big football game. So for those who still light up the night, thank you
I remember fondly the sears and monkey ward catalogs… I would peruse the toy sections til the pages fell out! (or maybe it’s becuz I ripped them out as a reminder to mister and misses claus!)

Out of the most of babes. As chaotic and manic and overwhelming as it all is, we’d miss it if we diidn’t partake.
