Tribute to the late Tommy Smothers, whose impression of John Schwartz was to say, in his regular voice, “Hi, I’m John Schwartz”.

And at the conclusion of the strip Rob will wake up and realize that it’s all been a dream.

Buck’s talents are endless. I suspect so are Satch’s, though he doesn’t realize it.

Ah, yes, the mighty Duke – who, like fellow bad actor Ronnie Raygun, dodged service in WWII, but rabidly supported all other wars.

Yes, I know Ronnie was in the Naval Reserve – but assigned to Hollywood to make bad propaganda films. If that was what I needed, I’d have sent him overseas & kept Jimmy Stewart (BGen, USAFR & decorated bomber pilot) home to act…….

Rob is gone a lot for a reason. This is a good example.

    H. Jon Benjamin does the voices of Bob on “Bob’s Burgers” and Archer on “Archer.” He’s also the voice of the video-store guy (Carl?) on “Family Guy.” They all sound exactly the same (Jon Benjamin is no Mel Blanc, but he doesn’t try to be). One episode of Family Guy" featured a talent show, with Carl doing impressions:

CARL: “You know Bob, on the show ’Bob’s Burgers’? This is my impression of him: ‘HI, I’m Bob.’ And you know Archer, from the show ‘Archer? This is my impression of him: ’HI, I’m Archer.‘, This is what it would be like if they met: ’Hi, Bob. I’m Archer.’ ‘HI, Archer. I’m Bob.’ Thank you.”

PETER: “Wow, this guy is good!

This strip reminded me of a Smothers Brothers routine, where Tommy claims to be the greatest impressionist in the world (better than Frank Gorshin). He proves it with his impression of John Schwartz. “Hi, I’m John Schwartz.”

    RIP, Tommy.

Bucky needs to do an impression of Marcel Marceau without the motions, just the dialogue.

I found John Wayne to be a boring, second-rate actor. Perhaps better than Ronald Reagan. I said so to a work acquaintance and he was quite offended, got mad at me LOL.

Well, I’m sure John Wayne DID say that. When he was introducing himself. Now, trivia question: In what movie did John Wayne say “Truly this man was the Son of God.”?
