Wrap light stings around a large piece of cardboard. A box, opened at both ends and flattened, works well, allowing one end of the cord to be places between the sheets and secured in place by the force applied by the wrapped string. Throwing them into a box and buying new ones every year also works well.
I avoid lights..I have an old fashioned tree with old ornaments, wooden handmade, painted, etc! Then popcorn and cranberries, hand strung for garland! It’s beautiful!
