Buying one’s wife a snow shovel is pretty low. About the only thing even lower is buying her some weight loss gizmo “as seen on TV”… especially if she never showed any interest in it.
all the things that commercials say are the “perfect Christmas gift” is just plain silly. And going into a 5 year debt without talking to your spouse first, does not say “I love you”.
On the several occasions we have bought a car we have bought it together. With the exception of our Class B RV (think Chevy van – not what you see in movies) which is jointly registered, all of our cars – have been in his name – including the one my dad bought me when I was in college and was transferred to husband’s name from dad’s when we got married.
After all the years of convincing him that when I say I don’t want any gifts I mean it, he definitely would not buy me a car – nor anything else without my being with him when he bought it. We have, however, being trying to buy a new car for about a year now as our Chevy has the bad engine which eats (drinks?) oil. In the past week it ate (drank) 12 oz of oil. Most weeks it is 6 oz. Been looking for a replacement car but cars are hard to come by these days – even more so one that we can afford to buy (and that is with a car loan – I hate having one, but since we both no longer work full time buying a car for full payment when we buy it is no longer possible.

Ah, that’s the wrong kind of shovel if you expect her to dig you a shallow grave in the back 40.

As a present usually I get a Dilbert calendar every Christmas. Have they been banned? Guess I will find out.

Not a great kind of a ‘hubby’ that buys his wife a tool for Christmas (or anytime, for that matter) ! ! ! !

This looks like something my XH would have bought me. Of course I still shovel the snow but sure prefer living alone to him.

In the 70’s I thought I was getting a Chevy Chevelle for Christmas, but it turned out to be a Snow-Sho-vell…

Would think he would have bought an ergonomic/back friendly shovel as he’s the one that will be using it.

Maybe if he were in a commercial for a car he would get enough money to buy one.

I’ll never understand why a dog would marry a chicken.

They don’t live in a commercial. But HE now lives in the doghouse! (I mean, sure, he’s a dog, but you get what I mean, right?)

ROTFL – the caption, of course, is better than the gift.

Hope it is a plastic shovel as it hurts less when you get hit over the head with it.

I don’t know anyone who buys anyone a car for Christmas.
