FYI for those who may want to know – adding veggies and fruit to one’s diet is often easier than just cutting out snacks! This is why chips with a veggie salsa can still be good for you – yes, it’s a carb and salt bomb, but the vitamins in the tomatoes don’t go away just because they’re chopped down either!

Garfield got this one right. NHS guidelines state that three heaped tablespoons of cooked carrots counts as a portion, which is about 60g. This suggests that a whole cake contains more than eight portions of carrots, so a largish slice ought to count as one of your five-a-day.

I like your reasoning there, Garfield. One of my favorite afters at my Golden Coral is their version of Carrot Cake. And, who knew it was a vegetable.

If you want to get Garfield to actually eat his vegetables, maybe blend them up and hide them inside ice cream or jelly-filled donuts in order to disguise the taste.

Yes, Garfield, it’s a “vegetable”…as well as a source of sugar and carbohydrates (too many of them in an entire cake). Say hello to diabetes, you flabby tabby.
